The Testicular Cancer Awareness Talks provided by the Mercy Hospital Foundation have proven to be hugely successful. We are now offering these educational talks to companies in Cork city and county. Our talks have been well received and, amazingly, resulted in saving two young men’s lives when they recognised the symptoms being described and were treated in time!
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15-35. Cork has a 27% higher testicular cancer rate than the national average. We feel it is of the utmost importance that students are made aware of the signs and symptoms, as well as the nature of testicular cancer.
This initiative is funded by the Make Your Mark on Cancer Walk held every year by the family of the late Mark Prendergast. Mark passed away as a result of testicular cancer which was diagnosed in the late stages. We are so grateful to the Make your Mark team for the tireless fundraising they do in aid of The Mercy.
We also have a website offering information on Men’s Health just click here for all the details.
