There are two amazing Christmas Light Shows in aid of The Mercy in County Cork and we’re encouraging everyone to take a trip to see one of these over the festive season.
Muldowney Christmas Light Show, Cobh: From Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th, and Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th December at 7.30pm at 94 Norwood Park in Cobh (full directions at www.muldowneychristmas.com). This Christmas will see the return of their singing Christmas faces which were newly brought in last year and were a big hit with both adults and children, and are the only ones of their kind in Ireland. Old favourites like the Frozen medley are back too, as well as a handful of new songs, with free candy canes for all the children who go along. Decorated in memory of their beloved daughter and sister Aileen, the light show is free of charge, but people are invited to donate with all proceeds raised going to the Mercy Oncology Unit & Chaplaincy. This is the last year for the Muldowney Light show so be sure to catch it before it is gone!
Pat Carey Christmas Light Show, Youghal: From Saturday December 3rd until Women’s Little Christmas on January 6th Pat Carey’s Lights Show will run from 6pm – 9pm every night at 25 Blackwater Heights, Youghal. The opening night will see a musical performance from the Holy Family Choir, with festivities kicking off at 5pm. There will also be a raffle in aid of the Mercy Oncology Unit, and the lucky winner will have the honour of officially switching on the lights! Visitors to the Carey home in Youghal can expect lots of Christmas cheers, tasty treats and musical performances from the likes of Brú na Sí throughout the holiday season, supported by the local business community. All donations go to the Mercy Hospital Cancer Appeal.
A big thank you to everyone involved in these Christmas Light Shows for their hard work in aid of The Mercy.
