Thank you to the hundreds of cyclists who gathered at Camden Fort Meagher on Sunday 9th April, for the Fort2Fort Charity Cycle 2017.
You made it the most successful Fort2Fort ever! On behalf of the Mercy Hospital Foundation, we would like to say a huge Thank You to the Fort2Fort Charity Cycle organising Committee, to Radisson Cork, Ulster Bank, Aircam and Cork County Council. A special thank you to all those who worked so hard on the day – the Irish Coast Guard, Irish Naval Service, Cork City Civil Defence, Cross River Ferries, the Ambulance Crew, Men’s Sheds and Aircam Crew. Thanks to Crosshaven GAA Club, Crosshaven AFC, Blood Bike South, Bramley Lodge, to all the Stewards and Marshalls who gave up their time, to the sweepers, to Sara in the command centre, to all the sponsors and businesses who donated water, fruit, jellies and to the fabulous bakers and all who volunteered at registration.
Thank you so much to everyone who supported Fort2Fort 2017!
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mercy University Hospital, Camden Fort Meagher Restoration and five Cork City and County Lions Clubs.
Photos from the day are available on our Facebook page.
Update re: King and Queen of the Mountain Challenge sponsored by Radisson Blu, Little Island.
The Fort2Fort Committee are very sorry to say that unfortunately, due to technical issues with the timing software, we were unable to record cyclists’ times over the 2.5km stretch in Raffeen, and as a result cannot crown King and Queen of the Mountain for this year’s Fort2Fort. This is an issue that was very much outside of our control. We sincerely apologise to all our cyclists and supporters.
However we are pleased to confirm we have six prizes of 2 nights B&B at one of the Radisson Group Hotels in Ireland and we have decided that we will raffle these among ALL cyclists who took part in Fort 2 Fort. We will pick three men and three women, and will announce the winners within the next few weeks.
Thank you to the Fort2Fort Sponsors:
