Direct Mail and Digital Fundraising Executive
As Direct Mail and Digital Fundraising Executive, Jo-Anne’s role at the Foundation is multi-faceted. She manages our direct mail campaigns; looks after our website and social media accounts; creates our monthly e-zines; and is Project Manager for the Cork’s 96FM Giving for Living Radiothon which raises huge sums of money to support the Mercy Hospital and four other cancer charities each year.
Jo-Anne graduated from the University of Limerick with a BA Hons. Degree in New Media and English and later completed a Professional Diploma in Sales Development at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
After graduating from UL, Jo-Anne spent two colourful years working in Madrid teaching English and learning Spanish. She returned to Ireland to cut her teeth in Marketing and PR by interning at Agri Aware (Irish agri-food educational body). Here, she co-ordinated national education projects to primary and secondary schools and was responsible for their PR activities. Jo-Anne’s west Cork roots called her home, however, for an exciting opportunity to develop the sales and marketing of a local food brand where she played a significant role in the brand’s transition from a kitchen table enterprise to a fully-fledged brand available in Ireland’s mainstream shops. She later joined the not-for-profit organisation EIL Intercultural Learning to manage a year-long programme of 50th Anniversary events and also to co-ordinate their international travel bursaries (allocated to over 20 deserving people each year). She was thrilled to join Team Mercy in 2015 and play a part in improving the services available to the 100,000 patients treated at the hospital each year.
When not involved in fundraising for the Mercy Hospital, Jo-Anne can be found singing her heart out at local musicals and performances.
