Your school could become a Mercy Star this year by organising a fundraiser. The Mercy Stars is an event to recognise those individuals, teams, and fundraising volunteers who go the extra mile for patients and colleagues at The Mercy University Hospital. The awards are a celebration of all that is great about our fundraising volunteers and the staff behind the Mercy University Hospital’s exceptional care for patients and their families.
When schools fundraise for the hospital, their efforts make a big difference to the work that we do. Each year, we recognise a school that has gone above and beyond by awarding them a Special Recognition Mercy Star. In 2014, this was awarded to the students at Carrigaline Community College who organised a great Fun Walk in aid of The Mercy Hospital Foundation and in memory of their friend, Danny Crowley. The students raised a whopping €5,385 for the Kids & Teens Appeal here in The Mercy Hospital. We were so impressed by their generosity and kindness that we nominated them for a Mercy Star and the school won the Special Recognition Schools Award in 2014!
